ARGENTINA
Bodega Benegas, Mendoza
The Benegas family have been involved in the Argentinean wine industry since 1883 when they bought the El Trapiche vineyard that has gone on to international fame. Wines are made with the help of Michel Rolland, the controversial Bordeaux wine consultant. Our choice of their wines are made from European varietals but with a definite South American twist.

To quote Benegas’s own notes “Stunning nose – black cherries, hints of leather & brick dust…” ! Well, the black cherries and leather flavours are certainly there and there’s good balance and a long finish. |

Gutsy, full-flavoured red with blackberry and blackcurrant fruit flavours accompanied by a spicy, almost sweet oaky backbone. Interesting and very representative of quality Argentinean Malbec. |
